When I was young and my daughter, Brandy, was three years old, I had a lovely young woman work for me who helped me care for Brandy and the work in the house.
One day she came to work and said she saw this wonderful movie and that she had seen it several times. In the span of a few days! I thought to myself, I have to see this movie. And I did and I saw it several times too. I loved the movie, and I loved the music.
Eddie and the Cruisers was a rock ‘n’ roll mystery. It was a little jewel and it was haunting. Eddie and the Cruisers had a sequel, and it was called Eddie and the Cruisers II: Eddie Lives! It told Eddie’s story and the jewel lost a little of its luster because we could no longer speculate: Did Eddie live and was that really him at the end of the first movie? Eddie and the Cruisers II told the rest of Eddie’s story and all the questions were answered. Eddie was humanized and perhaps we all saw a little of Eddie in ourselves.
On Saturday, September 29th at 1:00 pm Eastern Time/10:00 am Pacific Time and on Sunday, September 30th at 9:00 pm Eastern Time/6:00 pm Pacific Time Movies Broadway Singers and Beyond will pay tribute to Eddie and the Cruisers. To all my wonderful and loyal listeners, Movies Broadway Singers and Beyond will be going off the air on October 2nd for a while. The platform that our internet radio station runs on is retiring. We will be looking for a new platform to relaunch our station. In the meantime, I wish you all well. I am grateful for Sirius and Pandora Radio. The music that I both loved and played will live forever. For that I am grateful.
For updates, we will announce our return on our website, moviesbroadwaysingersandbeyond.com and on our social media. We will put the word “or the melody” out.
Love and with a song in my heart for all of you,
Sherry
