One of my favorite television shows of the past was The Twilight Zone. I passed this love onto my husband and daughter. Rod Serling was a creative genius but even when other writers contributed stories, The Twilight Zone created haunting memories.
The last episode to ever be filmed was Come Wander with Me. It is about a singer looking for a hit song, but he enters The Twilight Zone and finds more than he bargained for. It is a parable of history repeating itself when perception is lacking. The highlight of this episode was Bonnie Beecher singing the song Come Wander with Me. After I saw the episode, I could not get the song out of my mind and others felt the same way. If you go on YouTube, you will see how people talk about this song and episode and how moved they were by what they saw and heard.
I searched high and low for this piece of music and found it and I now play it in on Movies Broadway Singers and Beyond.
The message of the episode was great but the highlight, which is the song, plays throughout the episode and tells the story. I even read where Liza Minnelli auditioned for the role, but Bonnie Beecher was chosen and she was perfect for the part.
Come Wander with Me was written by Anthony Wilson and the music was created by Jeff Alexander.
