Sherry’s Cherries: Sweet Surrender – Lite Rock

When my daughter was a little girl, I would drive her and her friends to dance class. Some classes were during the day and others were in the evening. One evening, while waiting for my sweet passengers, I was listening to the radio and a song came on. It was beautiful and I had never heard it before. When I got home, I called the radio station and spoke with the DJ (you could do that in those days). I sang him the lyrics and he said “Wasn’t that a great! That’s Song on the Radio by Al Stewart.” Of course, I had to get the album which was Year of the Cat.

Movies Broadway Singers and Beyond pays tribute to some beautiful lite rock pieces. You’ll hear the Carpenters, America, Al Kooper, Ricky Nelson, Glen Campbell, The Eagles and more. This is mellow rock. You’ll remember a lot of these, and I know you will enjoy all of them. We begin with Al Stewart’s Song on the Radio, and we close with Sweet Surrender by David Gates and Bread.
