You know the feeling….When you are ‘in the zone’ — listening to music, reading a book, being in nature…those moments when you are alone with the higher powers. For me, it is art and music. I have so many favorites and I am happy to present Shadows in the Moonlight, some of the songs which put me ‘in the zone’.
You’ll hear Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, Keely Smith, Andy Williams, Nat King Cole, Carole King and so many more.
Honorable mention should be given to Keely Smith which passed away at 89. I first saw her on tv with her then husband Louis Prima. I was a kid. All I could think was, “Be quiet Louie! Let Keely sing!” Louis was gifted musician but it was Keely who was blessed with those wonderful vocal chords. They later divorced. I have most of Keely’s music.
I would like to add that, if I could, I would devote whole tribute shows to Johnny Mathis, Frank Sinatra, Percy Faith and others.
But there are rules that prohibit me from doing that. But there are many musicians that put me in the zone. I am grateful to all of them.
I hope you enjoy this one. I hear from listeners who request songs and share with me the songs that have meant something to them in their life. Dan Fogelberg’s Longer is one of those. Great artist and beautiful song.
The show begins with Frank Sinatra’s This Happy Madness and closes with Paul Anka’s Times of Your Life.
With a song in my heart, Sherry
