The world lost a great singer over the weekend. Beautiful, talented Eydie Gorme passed away at 84. Eydie and her husband, Steve Lawrence, have been entertaining the public for more than 50 years. My husband and I have seen them perform many times over the years. They both have wonderful voices that made the music come alive. Steve still performs, but Eydie had retired a few years ago.
I have all of their music, collectively and separately. In coming weeks, one of my new shows, Movies Broadway Singers and Beyond Pays Tribute, will toast the female singers who set our hearts on fire through the years and Eydie Gorme will be one of our stars. Our hearts go out to Steve and David and the family at this time.
Me, I will listen to Eydie sing. I loved you, Eydie. I’ll miss you.
