The show, Return to Paradise, got a lot of listeners. So, I decided to present encore performances of it. The Times are below, and they are also listed on the home page of the website.
The beautiful song, Return to Paradise, was written by Dimitri Tiomkin and Ned Washington who also composed the memorable, and Academy Award winning song, High Noon. It is even said that the music to High Noon made the film the success it became. Tiomkin and Washington also created the beautiful song, Wild is the Wind. Dimitri Tiomkin composed the music for The High and the Mighty, Friendly Persuasion and others. He was a genius.
Summer (the first time), released in 1972 was written by Bobby Goldsboro, Ashley Abram, and Timmy Tappan. The song was taken from an experience Bobby had with an older woman. Though Bobby admitted, in reality it was not as romantic as the song. It was also inspired by the film The Summer of ‘42. Kudos to Timmy Tappan who created the piano riff which is played at the beginning and throughout the song. Perfect. Because it was somewhat “suggestive” it inspired controversy when it was released. But I think it is the best of Bobby Goldsboro.
Josh Groban’s So She Dances is exquisite. It was written by Adam Crossley and Asher Long. I love to give the composers and lyricists credit.
These are some beautiful songs, and I am so happy to share them with you.
With a song in my heart,
Sherry
